About Narrativista

Hola hola :)

My name is Anita, I'm a traveller, photographer, wannabe writer. I started traveling in Latin America in January 2018 in order to better understand the people of this continent, their way of thinking and living.

Are people really happier here? How can they be happy if the poverty is so significant? Is it that dangerous to live in Latin America? Why does everybody want to go to the USA? How does one spend his days in a lost Mexican village or in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, Guatemala City?

I wanted to hear all this from the locals. True stories, own perspectives. And I wanted to share it with my friends and family:

"This is Latin America. This is the Real Latin America, not what you see in the TV, not what you hear on the radio."

Every day I spend a lot of time writing and working on my photos, hoping that the stories will inspire you, entertain you, and that they will raise awareness about certain issues. I hope the stories make you feel that you are not alone, and they'll help remind you that each and every one of us has an interesting story to tell. We just need to ask the right questions.

I travel on a shoestring budget, often hitchhiking and Couchsurfing, but unfortunately I can't go on much longer like this.

Therefore, any donation would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in helping me carry on the work I do. For you it might be the price of a beer, but to me it may mean a day or two days' budget.

If you decide to donate, besides my eternal gratitude, you can also expect more and better contentstories on people with an outstanding devotion or talent and on particular communities you might not know otherwise.
